Assistant Professor Position

The Department of Neurobiology, in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, seeks to recruit two tenure-track faculty members at the level of Assistant Professor. Applicants holding a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and demonstrating an outstanding record of scientific achievement will be considered.  We are interested in individuals whose research addresses fundamental issues in neuroscience at the molecular, cellular and/or systems levels, and who show significant potential for innovation, scholarship, and commitment to excellence in research and teaching.   Applicants representing areas of neuroscience that expand or complement existing expertise in the department and that expand the diversity of our faculty are especially encouraged to apply.

Northwestern University offers a rich and vibrant intellectual environment and state-of-the-art support facilities.  The appointee will join a broad, interactive community including colleagues in the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program comprising over 130 faculty members drawn from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, the McCormick School of Engineering, the School of Communication, the Feinberg School of Medicine, the Manne Children’s Research Institute, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

1. Prepare a separate PDF (8MB max file size) for each of your documents.

2. Prepare a list of names and email addresses for your external references

Three references are required but you may include up to five. Please notify your references that detailed directions for uploading a letter of recommendation will be e-mailed directly to them. This will occur after the application has been formally submitted. These notifications are sent out in batches, so it may be a few days before your reference receives the e-mail. References will be asked to use the following naming convention:

3. Optional Sample Publications

As part of your application, you may upload one PDF (8MB max file size) that includes as many as three (3) of your publications using the following naming convention:

4. Submit Application

After compiling your PDF files and list of references, please proceed to the online application submission page. You must complete all required fields before clicking the submit button.
